New Ceramic Sector Apprentice gets PMI Trust Support
PMI Ceramic Trust have recently started financial support for an Apprentice at Burgess & Leigh Stoke on Trent.
The role, based initially in the decoration area of the business due a recent retirement, will be supported by us for the first 2 years of the apprenticeship/employment.
Apprentice Cai’s role here is to work across all areas of the traditional decoration process but also to broaden his experience to cover other departments including Quality, forming, firing and logistics as part of his continuing development.
Cai’s apprenticeship will be in partnership with provider Axia who concentrate on supporting problem solving as well as product / process improvement.
Cai has already improved the tracking and labelling in the storage area of decorations inside the factory.
Burgess and Leigh’s MD Jim Norman and Debbie Hill, Production Manager are both excited with the new role and thanked PMI Ceramic Trust for the generous support during a time when rising employment costs and energy prices are severely impacting the sector.
This support is available to UK businesses in all sectors of Ceramics so anyone interested is encouraged to reach out to us through our contacts page.
